My Favourite Childhood Book

Hi there everyone.

Here’s something interesting to start my post with and goes well with the Dragon Theme.  Here is a pic of a friendly dragon I ran into a few Halloweens ago 🙂

For the Love of Dragons

I think I need an Adhamh shaped one…

Do you have a memory of holding that ‘special book’ in your hands as a kid?

I do.

Mine was holding a hardback copy of ‘Greensmoke’ in my hot little hands for the first time at the Port Augusta Public Library in South Australia.  I was seven.  I borrowed it, read it, and loved the drawings and the character of R Dragon and his love for sticky buns so much…

I kept re-borrowing that book whenever I could.  Later on down the track when I was older and wiser, Amazon came on the scene and I was then able to hunt down a mint, first edition copy (A US first edition, not a UK one, unfortunately), and get it for my very own.

That book is the one that made me fall in love with dragons and had me borrow every dragon story I could get my hands on in the Public library and the school libraries.

NB: Please support your local library, they are still places of wonder and excitement.  I love them.  And I did draw and colour the dragon used as the header to this post 🙂

Peace, Love, and Cheesecake,
 Hayley
